Getting to know someone stalls in the same place every time: the weather, the journey, the job title, and then silence. This deck exists to skip that stretch. Every question is open, answerable in a sentence or a paragraph, and safe to ask a stranger, which is what separates it from a truth-telling game. Nobody is asked to confess anything or to reveal something they would regret sharing.
The four categories are meant to be used deliberately. Light works for a first meeting or a queue. Deep suits a long dinner or a walk, once people are comfortable. Work is built for new teams, onboarding and one-to-ones. Family is for gatherings where people know each other but have never actually asked. Move between them as the group warms up, and let anyone pass on a question without explaining why.

- Allow a free pass on any question, and swap categories when the energy changes.
Frequently asked questions
How many questions should one session use?
Ten to fifteen is usually enough for a group of four to six people. The aim is depth rather than coverage, so it is better to let one good question run than to rush through twenty.
Does this work for a work team?
Yes, and the Work category was written for exactly that. Keep to Light and Work for a new team or an onboarding session, and save the Deep category for people who have already built some trust.
What if someone does not want to answer?
Passing should be free and unremarkable. Say so before you start, and model it once yourself. A deck like this only works when nobody feels watched for skipping a question.
